The Talent Brand Alliance Board is Hiring

To say that it’s been a whirlwind in talent branding for the last two years would be… sort of an understatement.

We’re grateful to have had the leadership of the entire board through the pandemic and all of it’s twists, turns, and pivots that were necessary. We especially want to call out the contributions of those whose two year board terms are ending this October.

  • Aaron Kraljev - Partnership Leader

  • Heather Leszczewicz - Knowledge Base Leader

  • Camille Richardson - Mentorship Leader

  • Alex Her - Marketing Leader

The remaining amazing board members you’ll be joining to help us grow the community in 2023 and beyond are Summer Baruth - Events; Crystal Lay - Membership; Allison Kruse - Community; Will Staney - Board Co-chair; Bryan Chaney - Board Co-chair.

As part of our continued growth and change, we are excited to announce that applications for these four board seats are currently being accepted. We are a global community and highly encourage applications from practitioners outside the US.

Board Member Benefits include tickets to Summit events, board meetings and paid travel, Pro membership access to our platform, and of course TBA swag.

Marketing - Our marketing leader will help drive awareness of the community on public channels including talentbrand.org, social media, as well as in-person events. You’ll support our initiatives across all other board seats, which means that yes, the rest of the board are your internal stakeholders. TL;DR: You’re leading marketing for a community of marketers and communicators, so creative expectations are high but so are the rewards.

Partnerships - The Partnership Leader has a unique role in building relationships with external communities and vendors who have a shared vision and purpose with the Talent Brand Alliance. You’ll help identify the best companies who add value through their product or service and craft short and long term partnerships to help connect them with the community. TL;DR: Have you ever wanted to approach the best vendors in our space and ask THEM for budget?

Knowledge Base - Our Knowledge Base Leader is the de facto librarian of all of our collective experience and expertise. You will lead our annual practitioner survey program and all related knowledge and promotions. You will curate and collect the outputs from our member calls, Summit events, and other research initiatives to drive value for our community members. TL;DR: When our members search for a template, conversation, or industry data point, your work will connect them with that knowledge.

Mentorship - One of the most valuable pieces of Pro membership is the ability to get matched to someone who has been there before. From a one hour conversation, all the way to a long term mentor / mentee relationship. Your role is to facilitate the growth of our member relationships as well as the knowledge shared from technology, industry, and career path. TL;DR: If you love connecting people with each other to help solve problems, this is the role for you.

The hiring process

Applications are open NOW, and close September 23, 2022.

We’ll confirm all nominations with in-depth information about the key result areas for each board member. All board members will support the Talent Brand Alliance in the pursuit of our mission and support of our values:

Together we help push the growing talent brand profession forward through community and mentorship, to create and show greater impact on the businesses we serve.

Embody the TBA Values

  • Be Humble: There are no experts. We seek to understand first in our interactions.

  • Transparency: Utilize open source materials, but give credit where credit is due.

  • Fail Forward: Embrace experimentation, failure, and change, without fear of judgment.

  • Respect: Treat fellow community members how we want to be treated.

  • Practitioner-First: Relevance, context, and unbiased feedback come from a strong core community with members who actually do the work.

  • Confidentiality: Uphold the confidentiality of individuals, their employer, and the work.

We hope the next iteration of the board will continue to help us refine our expectations, push our boundaries, and create an amazingly helpful experience for talent branders across the world. If that’s your hope as well, we’d love to chat with you. Please apply today.
