2019 Conferences to Make You a Recruitment Marketing Pro

First off, this is not a list of recruitment conferences – there are plenty of those lists out there (thanks, Google)! This list is something different – a follow up a list of podcasts I posted last year for people looking to improve their recruitment marketing expertise.

Whether you are a seasoned Recruitment Marketing pro, or a Recruiter looking to get your head around Twitter for business, I highly recommend checking out one, or all, of these conferences in 2019.

1) Talent Brand Summit – Austin, TX, March 26-28, 2019 & London, Oct 14-15, 2019

This conference was unlike any other event I have been to. Usually, you learn some great tips from the speakers alone. This event is exclusively for Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing practitioners, and you learn from all of them in small workshops – along with making some amazing friendships. Ping me on Twitter at @media2knight for a discount code before the Austin event sells out!

2) Social Media Marketing World – San Diego, CA, March 20-21

Feel overwhelmed by social media? I know many recruiters that would raise their hand to that. Hosted by content super power Social Media Examiner, this three-day conference brings 7,000 marketers and influencers together. Sessions cover Facebook advertising, retargeting, Instagram marketing, messenger bots, LinkedIn content strategies, video marketing – all very relevant to recruitment these days!

3) Content Marketing World – Boston, MA, April 16-17, 2019

Recruitment Content has a long way to come from ‘spray and pray’ on LinkedIn. EVERY recruiter should attend a conference like this to learn about inbound marketing with valuable content (hint: not your “hot job”). This agenda gets me seriously geeked out, and I may just have to stand outside the glass with my nose on the windows.

4) Employer Brand Strategies Conference – San Diego, CA, May 7-9, 2019

I attended my first #EbrandCon last year and thrilled to emcee the next one this May! It is packed with tactical sessions on everything to do with video content, candidate journeys, tech tools and more – all specific to recruitment. I am most looking forward to Katrina Kibben’s session on writing better recruiting messages.

5) Transform Live  – Boston, MA, June 19-21, 2019

I attended the first ever Transform conference organized by Smashfly and was impressed with the focus on recruitment marketing tactics and strategies throughout the show. They also do an online version for those unable to attend live, and are back in Boston this summer with fab Tim Sackett hosting again – prepare for bowties and hugs.

6) Mozcon – Seattle, WA, July 15-17, 2019

This conference is for the more advanced recruitment marketer looking to hone their skills in SEO, paid search, content, email marketing and more. This one is on my bucket list for sure!

7) Social Recruiting Strategies Conference – Philadelphia, PA, August 6-8th 2019

Nothing stops me from this one – even a broken leg and 7-day round trip train ride! I have had the pleasure of attending four of these and met some of my closest friends at this conference.  This is a slightly smaller show that is capped for just that reason – you can make some really great relationships and be part of the amazing #SRSCtribe.

8) Inbound – Boston, MA, September 3-6, 2019

I attended this sales and marketing conference in 2016 and was blown away by the number of session options! There was often 10+ different sessions at a time so you could tailor your learning to exactly what you need. I highly recommend signing up ahead of time as they do fill up. They get some very famous keynotes and the comedy night was hilarious!

9) &Then – Las Angeles, CA, October 16-18

For those recruiters looking to work on their data marketing skills, this is one for you! 100+ speakers all sharing the newest analytic and metrics tools.

Happy traveling/networking/learning/memory making and so much more!
